Youghal fishing After the storm

#1 Post by seanie35 »

Hit the carpets last nite with fresh crab. Weed was minimal despite the stormy weather water was well coloured. Caught 2 really plump cod about 5lb each and lost a really good fish. Few other lads fishing similar results. The best of the winter cod fishing could be over the next couple of weeks with the weather doing what we want it to doImage

2 beauts of Cod, well done.
Back in the day the old timers would be out in force after a storm, trying for the cod.

Nice fish Sean, really plump beauties. They must have been feeding up well on the bait disturbed by the storms. I wish I was going down there, but my knee is just too sore from my walk down Rossbeigh beach, should have known better. Maybe next week if I can get keeping the weight, plenty of that as you know, of it. Well done, lust a great pity you lost the bigger fish.

Best regards Wez
