Killiney 29/12

#1 Post by alby »

People: PD & myself

Duration:5 hours

Tide:on the rise

Weather:getting wilder by the hour

Bait:lug, mac, sandeel, wraps

Rigs:3 hook clipped

Results:whiting, codling, dogs, dab, flounder

Report:
Enjoyable session – arrived as the storm was beginning to get going – but once you had a shelter it was fine, very fishable too.

Lug & Mac the order of the day, thumped out about 80 yards or so, whiting as ever obliging, a few decent ones to 30cm, flounders to 30cm as well – made a very welcome change for dinner last night instead of Turkey & Ham!

John & Harry were creeping about down toward the Car park at the bend, there was another couple of lads fishing the rough ground up to the right as well, I hope they all got a few fish!

Just to the left of the Dart station looking out to sea. But to be honest anywhere between the carpark on the left and dart station will normally produce.

I fished it on the sunday from 6.30 to 8.30 it was ok at the start we had a good few whiting and rockling but the wind got up at around 7.30 and brought piles of weed with it had to fish 30lb line straight through but conditions got the better of us in the end.

Thanks for report good to hear few fish around. I fished 40 lugs a bit further north from killiney just before xmas and crabs were having great time eating my baits. Cant think of anything more demoralising.
