Not sure about the midwest but if you are willing to travel, there are highly regarded guides working in West and South Kerry, Cork, Waterford and Wexford. I'm sure lads on here will recommend specific guides

Join a club and ask the lads can you tag along on pleasure fishing sessions with them too.
