youghal beach 25/11/13

Duration:20.00 till 22.30

Tide:hw 22.20

Weather:calm cold

Bait:crab

Rigs:pulleys and clipped

Results:cod whiteing ray




Report:another busy few hours on the beach from the first cast the whiteing were biteing starting to get real sick of whiteing and there lovely teeth :x it didnt matter what size bait or hook i used the whiteing were on it few mins after it hit the water the few casts that missed the whiteing i hit 2 nice painted ray and a few small codling

Good size to those whiting!!
Looks like whiting are the dominant species this winter. I was plagued with them at the weekend. They stripped my hooks in minutes and it was only when they moved on that I began to pick up a few cod.
Cod season Winter 2013/14: 117 cod (best fish: 6.5 lbs)
Cod season Winter 2014/15: 193 cod (best fish: 4.25 lbs)
