Re: unusual-rare for our waters??
Squid is neither rare nor unusual in Donegal - I look forward to September every year for a bash at them.
I've got a whisper of Triggers about though - still trying to catch one of those!

I nearly got a slap on the back of the head off Joe Byrne for not weighing it before I put it back. First time they've seen them down there but it wouldn't of bet the record which I think is 4.25 lb.

Re: unusual-rare for our waters??
well, if you check the website, over the last several years, I think you will find that we have had reports of several types of new bream across the west coast and I know that boats off Clare are now regularly turning up several species of jack... search under rarefish. He logs all the reports.
