I'm unsure if this kind of stuff is permitted, but..
My local area/beach/fishing ground is going be destroyed with this new mega sewage treatment plant.
I would be grateful if you could take two seconds to sign the attached petition. Closing date is this Friday, 2nd August.

What alternatives are being suggested? Waste water / sewage from the Dublin area will increase, so what should be done? If we do nothing that's the worst outcome! If we were building the network from scratch we would have more but smaller plants - but how straightforward is it to redesign the network?

There are better ways to deal with human waste and waste water. Other countries have solutions we need to hone into those, the idea that this muppet government has the solutions is idiotic, and forget main stream media to report the truth, 1st this main body of plant is going to be built only up the road from me, in a densely populated area, (those that fish Poolbeg will know the beautiful smell that arises on a warm summers day) now I lived with the Tayto factory burning Crisps, and I lived with Cadburys and the smell of burnt coco, a smell that traveled for miles in the local areas some day you could smell it easily in Beaumont Hospital, (worth noting no TD lives within the planned area ) 2) the Out pour from this is onto a tourist beach, again look at the state of Poolbeg to learn, and yes, they said this will be different, But they also said the property tax would go to local services (which it didnt by the way;) ) and they also said they had a 5 point plan, Do i trust them Do I *^"!. So now they say they want this here, well I agree with Rory Not a bloody hope. Yes waste is a huge issue on our little island, But it means we have to be inventive, source solutions and work a better plan with actual people in the know!

By the way the discharge is near Ireland's Eye, not on to Portmarnock Beach.

Im saying there are better ways of dealing with it, and not being an expert in the stuff I'd have to research these ways

and as for new location as one commenter rightly said " hay the Seanad site will be free soon, they wont even need a change of use from the council"

Also here some propaganda i viewed from your last link, I found it very interesting, BUT in the video ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E6qAUH0J0No#at=271 )you'll note one green pipe is open to the air, (vent pipes) But any given day You'll get a smell around the plant in poolbeg. furthermore on the road leading to poolbeg on the right is green, (im heading out that way tomorrow i'll get pictures

havent a clue what happened in my last post but this is the type of stuff I was referring to new technology, and whats more our own students have ideas http://news-beacon-ireland.info/?p=10352 I dont see why we should be stuck in the norm, our youngest and brightest could come up with even more ideas
