RC Fishing

This might seem a bit crazy or pointless to some but I've been thinking of different methods of fishing lately and......has anyone here ever tried RC fishing?
I.E a radio controlled boat you can attach your main line to, then take it out for a spin, range of up to 350 feet apparently.
When a fish tugs on your line, it detaches from the boat and you can reel it in as normal.

I'd say it would be great craic but I don't know how effective it would be.
Standing on Howth pier on a sunny day with a few beers, driving a little boat around sounds like a nice way to spend a few hours though!

350 feet is well within casting range for most people, even me and im not much of a caster. No need for an expensive toy to get that far. Casting lessons would be a better option.

Hmmm....good point, the radio range is a little bit disappointing alright.
Would be good craic though!

Ive used them on lakes andbif its what im thinking of they are only a delivery system for carp fishing .You throw a kilo or two of bait and your rig in the hopper ,drive to your spot and offload and take it in again .. the motors arent that powerfull so waves and weed would destroy em in no time not to mention the salt water.The boats are made by viper,angling technics and tf gear do one and theyre all roughly 600 -1000 euro

waste of money IMHO, buy a decent yak instead, catch some fish and get a bit of free exercise into the bargain
