Hi lads, I'm holidaying about 2 miles from hook for the first 2 weeks in August. I'm a complete newbie to sea fishing ( trout and salmon all my life). I have basic gear. Any tips on where and how to fish while I'm there. Hoping to get my 3 young lads out with me.

Thanks in advance

Jim

main targets around the hook are mainly pollack wrasse and mackerel
pollock will take feathers, spinners jellyworms etc their not that picky
try float fishing with fresh rag for the wrasse its great sport
you can fish anywhere around the headland however most opt for the rocks on the left of the light house
it can also get quiet busy in summer and be carefull the rocks are very slippy and watch out foe rouge waves

Thanks copperhead. Are there any tackle shops nearby that I can buy lug or rag? Don't want to try digging where I'm not allowed.
