Given the time of the year I would expect them to be heading off to spawn soon. Try again next Oct/Nov might be some around by then.

I'm not too sure... but there is a fair chance the fish shops around the country will have a few!!!

All joking aside, I read a report the other night and it opened my eyes. In 2003, 84% of the Celtic Sea cod were taken by the French, leaving very little for anyone else, they also took the vast majority of the haddock and whiting. I know that the report is about a time 10 years ago, but I would be very surprised if things had changed that much in the intervening time.
