Ideas on a new general purpose multiplier reel
Hi all, hope ur all having tight lined summer. I am considering buy a new multiplier reel. I am on a budget and I would be using it for general casting with lures targeting bass, trout, mackerel etc. Has anyone any suggestions, I find using a multiplier a lot gentler on my shoulder for casting once I got the hang of it and I find them much more fun to use.

Yeah I am just seeing if anyone has a brand and model in mind that they found good quality and reasonably priced they liked.

a 525 would cope with just about anything unless you needed bigger line capacity !Bigboned wrote:interested also! would a 525 cope with light boat work?

Re: Ideas on a new general purpose multiplier reel
i,d take a look at a pike fishing forum as they use baitcasters for big lures alot ,any level wind multi i ever tried just cut down distance too much and birdied when i went for a big cast, so i always go for a fixed spool instead for lures never had a prob with ct multies maybe i just expect too much distance from a reel thats not designed for itJAFFUSMAXIMUS wrote:Hi all, hope ur all having tight lined summer.
