Whilst out collecting bait , around Bannow Bay, I noticed there were a lot of tires and building block's exposed at low tide, obviously these are a haven for bait etc... crabs!! am i allowed to take a peek at these or would i be confronted?
i wouldnt go near a crab trap.. just wondering, as i was out with my missus the other day collecting Rag, and we were peaking at the tyres nothing much in them to be honest.

Re: bait collecting in bannow.
If the lads that put in the hard work putting the traps down catch ya I don't think they would be too happy , just a word off warning, after all some lads rely on these traps to pay the bills .

Re: bait collecting in bannow.
Id safely say u will be confronted if u got caught taking a peek, cause i know the majority of people that own those along that stretch of coast. Lot of hard work in maintaining them and keeping people out of them...

Re: bait collecting in bannow.
ah cheers lads , i didnt know the score so i came on to ask, ill stay away from them so..
just learning about peeler crabs etc.. all new to me. having a great time at it tho..
maybe ill put down a tyre of my own!!
also i wouldnt know how its done in Dublin, as it would be logistically stupid to drive from bannow to dublin to get bait and come back down again
