hookhead advice PLEASE
hi all i am thinking of trying hookhead for the first time next weekend sat 16 sun 17 .the winds are roughly 26 km/hr.is it too dangerous to fish or should i be ok.tnx for any advice

i reckon it might be a bit to rough and dangerous i have fished it many a time with only a small wind and swell but you still have to be very careful as it can trow up a big roller out of the blue if you do fish it dont fish alone and be very careful the left hand side of the lighthouse is the best place to fish but you have to get down the cliff to fish the marks if the wind is any way strong from the south or sth east or sth west then i would pick another mark more safe

fish between the hook light house and slade . try 80 to 86 their is often shelter in their and it fishes well
or if the sea is a bit rought try the black channel 32 to 34 and fish under your feet or spin up or down the channel . hope this helps

shame about the weather
i am going out to try catch my first bass on a lure on saturday when the ban is over .could any1 recommend a good mark.(PLEASE I REALLY WANT TO GET 1 ON A LURE) PM would be great thanks

i dont really know 2 many spots to lure fish for bass as it something i have not done much of but rosslare point can trow up a few on the rising tide with plugs and soft plastics but theres other on hear that might be able to help you out a bit better than me when it comes to lures and bass
