I work about a 10 min cycle from the mouth of dublin port and was thinking about heading up for a hour on my lunch break to do a bit of spinning or throw out some feathers. I plan on trying the point that google maps calls S HILL http://g.co/maps/9fcu2
Just wondered has anyone fished here before and what I can expect or am i wasting my time

Re: Dublin Port
if you look at the map you will see the spot he is talking about is not in the port and docks, so he has nothing to worry aboutsparkey+1 wrote:I used to work in Bond road in the docks just a word of warning if the harbor police see u fishing and you are not employed in the port and docks they will confiscate all your gear seen it happen 1st hand. Re: Dublin Port
that mark is called the south wall. Poolbeg lighthouse is at the end. Unfortunately you cant drive on the wall & it is quite a long walk to get to the end. Fish are also caught at the half moon swimming club which is halfway down the wall.
Its supposed to be a good mark for bass, flounder, pollock, mackerel and smoothhounds with plenty of whiting in the winter.
believe it or not, whiting and flounder can be caught on lures.
