Looking for a decent rock Mark witha chance of a conger.

#1 Post by Sparkie »

Really bored off fishing of the beaches and easy fishing in the harbours. Looking for a rock Mark with the chance of a decent conger or anything other than a pin whiting. Only my second season fishing in Ireland so I need find something other than easy fishing. Even if it's just a place to spin for pollock and coalies with light tackle, it be better than being over gunned for pin whiting on the beach.
Species 2011:coalie,whiting, 5bearded rockling,shore rockling, doggie, pollock,flounder,codling,dab,smoothhound,sea scorpion,ballan wrasse,Tope, tub gurnard, gray gurnard,plaice,bass,Bullhuss,cod

Species 2012:coalie,doggie,codling,shore and 5bearded rockling,3bearded rockling,pouting,whiting,wrasse,bass,plaice,flounder,dab,smoothhound,hiss,tope,cod,tub and gray gurnard,Pollack

Almost any rock mark or pier where fishing boats are parked up should throw up a conger, better chance when its dark. I had no luck spinning for coalies to be honest man and lure fishing in general wont really pick up for another month or so id say, saying that some lads on here can catch loads spinning at this time of year but they obviously know something that i dont lol be prepared to loose a bit of gear going after the conger especially on the rocks, throw up a location and some lads might point you in the right direction
2011 species: pollock, mackeral, coalfish, whiting, codling, conger, flounder, dogfish, pouting. Not bad for my first few months fishing :)

2012 species: Coalfish (13), Bass (1), Rockling (5), Ballan wrasse (2), Pollock (57), Dogfish (8),
Whiting (1), Conger (1)

Wish List : Double figure Pollock
