hey all...i was wondering if any of you use chum from rocks?...i read that if you make some, freeze it, then make a makeshift cage from chicken wire or that green wire you get from garden centre and throw it in beside you on the rock, it will attract the fish in!...the wire cage would also protect it from being hit against the rocks in the current..
does anyone use this method or do you consider it cheating??
I use these feeders when wreck fishing from a boat, and they definitely draw the fish out toward your bait. I don't see why something similar would not work from the shore. At the end of a days fishing, all the left over bait is roughly chopped and mixed with bran and then soaked in fish oil. the mixture is then frozen in the feeder until needed
I also tried them when fishing for mullet, the oil soaked bran did float to the surface which held some fish in the area, and they did feed on it, but my bait presentation must have been wrong as i failed to connect, but the crabs were mad for it.

unless i,m match fishing i often ground bait had good results with coalies, pollock and rockling a few days ago off greystones harbour fishing into the entrance ,just chop and drop
cheers fellas....
im thinkin that since i work for a certain supermarket, that rhymes with pesco, i could maybe use some of the left over fish from the fish counter?...
i wonder if it would be any good?
it would be perfect! what some people do is mash it up with bran and freeze it in balls and throw them in as needed make sure to freeze the chum balls with a stone in the center so that it will sink.
if you are taking it straight from the shop just cut it up and put it in a weighted container and let it off
When I fished in the canaries the locals used this method all the time. They normally just made up a some crumbs and fish guts and chummed the water with this. It was very effective.
