Dollymount Info

#1 Post by herefishyfishy »

Lads,
I'm looking to fish this beach on Thursday night not to bothered if i catch much just need to blow the cobwebs away. have beached fish since May. Need to start getting out more. Since this is only 2mins from my house i have never fished it so want to give it a go. Is there any advice on the place. i will be fishing the incoming tide. as i say the main aim is to get out and have a few casts a chat and hope to avoid a blank.
Cheers for the info.

Can get great flounder this time of year on lug tipped with mac or straight mac. Also coalies on a good blow. I've had tiny codling and whiting there too. Straight out from the car parks or try from the shelters on the side of the wall. Another spot that's easy is beside the wooden bridge but I find best results are off the beach.

Watch the tide though as it rips in and can fill gullies behind you. Waders are a big plus. One other problem can be walkers keen to tell you how to fish or ask you how to.

Jez 50% of the time?!?!?! I understand people have work and families but to claim to fish and don't... a mate had the same issue.. as soon as the weather turned sour this lad would let him down ...then he met me :D :D Arklow we had S SE head on winds on shore going was tough only whitting and rockling made a show.. but the last trip to Skerries was done in Storm force 11 S SW winds that was FUN punching a 6oz full on down and low but just breaking over the surf to get out any distance. Blanked but came back feeling alive!!! well worth it!
PM me when ya want I see ya live in Artane so your not far from me ;)
