hi Potatonator. a turbot is mainly a fish eater. strip of mack or a sandeel is a good bait . a three hook flapper rig should work if there about with the snoods to suit the conditions.if you vary you baits you will have more chance of catching. eg.{ lug on top hook, mack on middle hook , sand eel on bottom hook.} you will also get flounder and plaice taking this bait. turbot can be cought in different depts of water and near or far out all depends on the day. hope this helps.

Agree with determined Dan. Turbot also seem to feed more in daylight than other fish, from what I've seen anyway and would be more common in the west/north-west if you're looking to target them. Hope this helps.
It ain't easy but it sure is simple!

Turbot seem to like the mack, you will find them alot over shingle beaches, I find they are in the same dept of water as bass and flounder. Obviously this dept can be different on any given day. Best advice use a 1 up 1 down rig with a grip lead and with some mack try a few different depts, if they are about you should get a few, best of luck.
The finest gift you can give a fisherman is to put a good fish back, and who knows if the fish that you caught isn't someone else's gift to you?"

turbot are hard to find these days around the irish shores as for as i am aware. your hardest chore will be to get a location that produces them regularly!
agree with Sweetwrasse - northwest is a great place to target them esp. donegal. ask a few people for advice on where to get them
ive tried the north Antrim coast on a few occasions this year to try and get one, but failed
as for bait, everyone seems to swaer by sandeel..
hope this helps
i want one too.. :P
