Re: Rock Fishing
Problem with rock fishing this time of the year is rough seas which make it very dangerous. But if you have found a sheltered mark that you think is safe then you may be ok. You could expect to catch Cod and whiting and coalies and even dogfish from rock marks. Best winter bait, would be peeler crab, fish bait like sand eel and mackeral and also lug if you can get it. You could also carry a bit of squid with you and make up some cocktails. Cork is fantastic for Cod and Whiting fishing. Peeler is a great bait for the Cod. But once again I must say be careful Tom, the rocks will be slippery and the tides can be very rough and unpredictable this time of the year. Best of Luck
The finest gift you can give a fisherman is to put a good fish back, and who knows if the fish that you caught isn't someone else's gift to you?"
