can i dig lugworms on north coast?

#1 Post by keano »

anyone want to tell me a nice place to dig a few lugworms between portrush-balintoy area? :(

i know very little about digging lugworms but have watched a few videos on youtube and would love to dig my own. would feel better to catch a fish using a worm that i dug and would also save money as frozen worms are a bit costly for a novice angler like me

if anyone could point me in the direction of a few lugworms i would be very happy and wouldnt be going mad and taking millions of them.

many thanks

I would recommend looking for a harbour with a muddy/sand ground,at low tide.if there is lugs there you will see plenty of casts[squiggly deposits] on the surface.Once you have found this, use a garden fork to dig a trench say about 4/5 feet across and work your way back.most lugs will be one or two digs down,,hopes this helps!
