Ballyhoran/Benderg Bay - Co.Down??

#1 Post by SlackLiner »

Anyone fished Ballyhoran beach before/recently? Or on round in Benderg Bay even? Cracking looking beach (check it out on google maps) but I've never heard of it being fished? Thinking on giving it a go if this southerly ease up anytime soon?! The rocks look quite interesting too..

fished it 2 years ago and blanked :( . i always thought it looked like it had potential, but the water is fairly shallow between the shore and the island and you never see anyone fishing that beach even in the height of the summer months :| :|

Interesting, thanks! I've had a look at the admiralty charts there and there looks to be deeper water (4m LW) further up the beach away from the Island. There seems to be an underwater causeway between the beach and the island almost, at only 1m depth? It just looks fishy and wonder what it might turn up during a winter night after a good southerly storm?
