multiplier reccomendation please

#1 Post by DAMIEN »

well got into using multiplier after years of fixed spool and all i can say is i wont be going back anytime soon  ,iv jus tbeen using a cheap multipllier that came with my sandstorm rod but now im confident i want to move up the scale into something better quality and better known,so im looking for reccomendation really, been looking at penn 525 mags and dawia ones and some abu garcia ones but theres so many out there, ideally most of my fishing is clean beach/pier with the odd conger trip and rough ground thrown in so id like something that could live with both

cheers in advance

Hi Damien

I'd go with a penn 525, great for casting and will work for rough and clean, the abu's are very good too but i would find them more suited to cleaner ground. Keep an eye on the for sale section.
With the 525 you can adjust the mags as you get more confident on the reel

Can't go wrong with a 525 great retrieve on them for slack bites and rough ground
The abu,s are great for clean ground

Penn 525, it will work well for the East Coast scratching and won't let you down if you want to go after the smoothies and tope
