dont know about cheekpoint but i was down in bellview yesterday(tuesday) with a mate and all we caught was 1 codling about 2lbs and 2 dabs(very small) and a rockling....was using lug and the crabs were stripping hooks in about 10 mins :(.
two other blokes came in later and fished for the last 2 hours of the rising tide..but didn't have any luck.....so the cod don't seem to be running in any great numbers yet..hope this is some help :)

you cant fish bellview it self but if you take the road down to the left by smart ply
drive to the end of the road until you hit the barrier park up and walk down it only a few mins walk

we never had any problems or have heard of any with cars down there also there are lots of camares keeping a eye around the place because of the port and all the business down there but if you are worried about the car you could try glyes quay it only 10 mins down the road were you can see the car when fishing have a look on google earth for drictions
