i have........it didnt work.
crab, crab and more crab. if you cant get any then lug and razor will get a few fish too. mussels are ok but messy to get on the hook.

I fish rock marks for cod normally ,mussle baits tipped with a small limpet do me grand,if u fish a certain rock mark regularly fill a large pool near the high tide mark,well one that gets covered for an hour anyway,with mussles,.they survive grand and ull have fresh bait whenever u go to ur mark,ull get limpets under ur feet,a fish crate full usually do me all winter

iv caught plenty of small ones on sandeel, no bigger then 2lbs though..crab/lug/razor/wraps would be the best in my opinion...

is that common limpet or slipper

Dosent matter its just there to keep the whiting busy and hold the mussles on ,a winkle or whelk wud do the same job

Well yea of course,but its still goin to be pulled apart by whiting,they usually go for what ever sticks out,thats where tipping baits comes in eg lug tipped with squid,etc.

I found using the short shank hook was allowing me to hook faster before they got to demolish the bait
