6 inch whiting louth

#1 Post by templer »

:? only fishing a couple of months
catch a few 5-6 flounder on laytown beach
then lots of 6inch whiting at beaches north of clogheader
tried every bait , casted near and far
diferent rigs ,day and night
but I cann't seem to land anything else
Alot of people seem to be hitting blanks in my area ,
but when the blank is broke I'm hearing about larger
fish bass ,large flounder and smoothies eg.
I fish a least once a week . :?

Is it me or is it just the time of year ?
any advice would be great
cann't wait to land a fish that i know is on the line
before its on the beach beside me

Hi templer, from some of my previous posts lately ye will see that ye are not the only one finding fishing this area difficult lately, so dont give up yet mate, the beaches north of clogherhead produced some good sessions for me last year in the winter months with good winter flounders, the odd bass and even seatrout taking bait. I dunno whats happened this year but i'm hoping that this winter will be better than the summer. If there is pin whiting about i'm sure that there is bigger fish following them to feed on, so put a hook in one and try some live baiting on a bubble float if the surf is not too bad. With the dark nights in now there should be some good night sessions, so good luck anyway...
Good things come to those who bait.
