cod and east cork

just wondering if any1 has any reports of cod round the east cork area?

i was out in the beachs a few nights around ballycotton bay the week before last & had a few codling about the 45cm mark,not many for the hours i put in i must admit but i would expect a few fish more to be around this week if the beachs are clean,especilly after the bad weather we had the last 2 weekends.

If you check a recent post on here with regards to youghal bridge which is east corkish,you will see that there are a few knocking about and once all this weed around the place clears there should be even more,just stick to the normal areas where they show and you'll be fine.

cheers!!! ya iwas down east cork area and the place is destoyed in weed round ballycotton garryvoe marks heard youghal was bad aswell!!!!!! thanks for the post

plenty codling in youghal harbour at the minute up to four pound ferry point throwing up consistent bags

there is cod around most beaches in east cork now find an area without weed and you WILL get cod try beaches around harbour entrances or the rock marks if you know them :roll:

species 2013(36)flounder, shore rockling, dog, coalie,cod, whiting, dab, poor cod, pollack, grey gurnard, red gurnard, pouting, haddock, thornback ray, grey mullet,ballen wrasse, cuckoo wrasse, scorpion fish, bass,blonde ray, plaice, herring, conger, golden grey mullet, red band fish, turbot, ling, garfish, scad, gold shinny, tom pot blenny, smooth hound, bullhuss, cork wing, dragonet, lesser weaver, painted ray.

specimen 2013 16 golden grey mullet, 1 scad, 1 red gurnard.
