If its a metal or alloy you can bring it to a fabrication shop and ask them to tig weld it for you. It shud fuse it back together for you.

liquid metal might do the trick, you can buy it in most hardware shops, its a compound of adhesive and fixing agent, never used it to repair a reel but i have used it to bond metal to metal.....rock solid!

I can remember reading on another forum that some members have used Araldite with good success to repair cracked frames. This seemed to be a common problem in a certain batch of 525's from around 2007 due to a construction flaw, where a small screw created a weak spot in the frame.

Hi, a fishing buddy of mine had his 525 side plate cracked and reckoned just about every part for these reels is available on ebay, so keep an eye out there, he paid about £3 for a brand new side plate, I once also got parts for the 525 from a dutch guy who seems to do reel service/repair works in Limerick, quite reasonable too.
It's all about the fishing
