Brittas estuary camping trip

#1 Post by Cabinteely »

Howye lads,

Heading down to brittas down by the estuary camping over the weekend for a few nights. :D

Iv never been down there before so just wondering if anyone knows what the craic is down there?

Is the first estuary you come to the one at arklow or is there a smaller one before ? :?: :?: :?:

Just cant see anything on the maps !!

Whats the fishing like ? what can you catch there ? Is it a good spot for camping ? Safe enough down there? :?: :?: :?:

I look forward to the replies lads !

Thanks

Brittas estuary camping trip

My brothers can got burnt out there 2 years back. And there has been reports of damage to parked cars the last few months. I'd be very cautious and stay where you can see your car.

If its Brittas Bay (near Jack Whites pub) your asking about, there is no estuary there.

Fairly shallow beach, Bass, Flounder, Dogs and Turbot but would be the main species - only fished at the very south end of the beach - usual beach tactics and bait should work.

Only ever fished it in calm conditions, but I'm told the bigger bass like a bit of surf on the beach.

Must say, never had any problems with my car parked there - but there is always a 1st time :(
