Cod in Cobh ?

Hi,

I know cod are starting to show around the beaches and in Monkstown, but I've never tried Cobh for them. Anyone have much success there ?

had plenty of cod off cobh during the winter months,never had um that big tho maybe 2 pound or so!

I always got them off cobh,tip for yea use fish baits off the queys when the herring boats are in they should be in now or soon,ive had loads of different fish species when der in,dead easy the boats even provide ground bait for ye loads fall over the side during off loading

They stopped off loading herring in Cobh about 4 years ago.

The back of the railway station is your best bet. There is a tidal run here so its best fished on the slacker part of the tides

fished cobh this evening no cod or whiting showing very surpised should be arriving soon :evil:

species 2013(36)flounder, shore rockling, dog, coalie,cod, whiting, dab, poor cod, pollack, grey gurnard, red gurnard, pouting, haddock, thornback ray, grey mullet,ballen wrasse, cuckoo wrasse, scorpion fish, bass,blonde ray, plaice, herring, conger, golden grey mullet, red band fish, turbot, ling, garfish, scad, gold shinny, tom pot blenny, smooth hound, bullhuss, cork wing, dragonet, lesser weaver, painted ray.

specimen 2013 16 golden grey mullet, 1 scad, 1 red gurnard.

Tried myself aswell, different selection of baits and nothing to be had.
