Hi caught this last night, think it might be a scad

, never had one before, caught it while bottom fishing with worm baits tipped with mack.

yeah, that's a scad alright, we had lots last year around the same time on a boat trip to the Aran Islands.

It's a scad alright. Mind the spikes on them. Got a good stab when i first handled one. Well done on the new species.

defo a scad ok, i just dont recall them having a yellow tails..!

but it defo is one...
did ye eat him..? similar to and as tastey as, if not tastier then, mack.

tastes beautiful when grilled or barbecued, we had a couple of guys from Spain on the trip and they were totally excited about them and said they are a so called 'superfood' and very good for you. We hit a massive shoal and this has absolutely made their day

Well you'll have to fish for it cause your not getting any more of my catch!!!!!!!!, Just like what was said to us for the mac remember you wont catch any there..
