Murlough Bay Co. Antrim

#1 Post by Tony T »

Hey everyone.

Has anyone any experience of fishing the beach at Murlough Bay??? I have heard the rocks are good for pollock etc. but what about the beach?

I'd imagine there would be the usual suspects of flats and possibly dogs but has anyone fished it recently?

Cheers

a very small little beach, i havent fished it but have often though about it!... it "looks good"..
i have however fished at the far side of the beach along the rocky kelp area and have caught, as you say, some decent pollack. the pollack can be tricky to get out tho as they can go straight into the kelp very quickly becos it is relatively shallow...
but anyway, would be very interested to hear how you get on. theres bound to be some decent flattie fishing there, maybe even turbot? probably expect dogs and a few other species which are typical for that area of the north coast - maybe cod, gurnard, coleys and stuff.
should be interesting. good luck
Charlie

Thanks Chuckaroo. I agree that it looks fishy so I'll be looking to give it a throw in the next week or so.
