Anto,
Stradbally often throws up good sized Painted ray , Turbot and of course Bass , and is well worth a try if conditions allow. Castlegregory used to fish very well for Painted and Thornback ray , but the last few years it has been awful , we did not even fish it this year , but we may just have been unlucky. We fished from the boulders at the side of the road just before sandy bay where the small pleasure beach is ( cast from the road) . Had lots of rays here up to 2008. Long range / large sandeel ( fresh if possible). All the best.
