Dingle

#1 Post by billy the fish »

Hi guys me and doggy dave and family head to annascaul near dingle county kerry on saturday for one weeks stay. Not all fishing im afraid because of wifes and dogs and a kid [my grandson lol] Looking forward to it, will fish inch, brandon, and anywhere, any chance we get. Must buy frosen razor and mac and sandeel in belfast angling on friday after work, oh and all the cheap drink i have room for, in tescos and asda, as its bloody dear down there. But we will support the local pubs for a pint or three and pub grub. Is anywhere fishin well there at the mo?

Hi ,
I fished Inch last week and it was terrible despite good conditions, as it was in June when I fished it too. Rossbeigh opposite fished much better. I gave Trabeg a good bash on a perfect evening and there were no Rays about( I even had fresh Launce) , I fished this a couple of times in June and had no rays then either , so wether they are not there any more or I have just been unlucky in my timing I dont know. I have found that the Rays do move about from year to year. We used to fish Castlegregory reqularly for rays and I have caught lots of Painted and the odd thornie there on most trips, then a couple years ago they seemed to dissapear and we have had many blank sessions there in the last three years. Plenty of Wrasse and Pollack on the rocks at Ventry.Wanted to fish the beaches of Brandon but it was full of surf the entire time we were there. Mackerel are still exteremely scarce , worst I have known for 20+ years over there. Like yourself I had the family with me so my fishing time last week was limited.Your right about the cost of food and drink in the dingle area , it is extortionate , I dont know how the locals survive ?.Best of luck.

Cheers for that brad, i'll give it my best shot anyhow. I'll try for the bass at first at inch, and seatrout at annascaul, if that fails i'll go to ventry etc. I will return all fish, as we're self catering, id have to cook anything i caught lol.All i can say is, if i blank, i couldnt do it in a more beautiful place.
