beachcasting set up help

Hi all , fairly new to beachcasting and looking to get a good rod and multiplier set up to start out. I got a leeda north star 12 ft fixed spool rod and penn gen x 7000 reel and I'm looking for somethin to pair up to it . I find this set up fairly heavy so any help would be great :)
2013 species : coalies,flounder(pb),whiting,dogfish,5 beard rockling
2012 species : cod,whiting,coalies;flounder,5 beard rockling,bass,dogfish,dab
