What's the best way off fixing the top eye

#1 Post by Sparkie »

Does anyone know the best way off glueing the top eye of my beach caster back into place, I went fishing sunday nite and took my rod out off the rod bag to find just the top eye lose and spinning round freely on the rod.

It ain't came all the way off yet but the rod is now un useable. Any advice will be great.

ive stuck them back in place with normal super glue watch your fingers but the stuff dries quick and you dont want to be walking around with a rod stuck to you hand.

i've had to this a few times due centre of the eye breaking
1 lightly sand area to be glued and clean dust of with a damp cloth
2 glue eye on make sure it is straight
3 get some thread and spin on by rolling rod then place a small bit of glue to hold thread
it works great
nota bien make sure eyes are in line

ye i do it this way but use thin braid to whip the eye on . the araldite epoxy glue to cover the thread and to glue the eye in place , apply the glue to the thread and use a piece of card to smooth it off as you spin the rod , will give it a good protective finish and looks like new. my two cents
