weavers

Fished brittas bay last night and caught my first weaver. Whats the safest way off unhooking them. What to do with then afterwards. Thanks.

i grip the hook with my forceps, hold the fish over the water and wiggle it till it falls off and back into the water.

if its deep hooked you should CAREFULLY wrap it in a towel making sure the spines are down then unhook and release straight from the towel to the water.

alternatively if you are really worried about being spiked you could hold the line over the water and cut the hook.

i caught my first one of these a few nights back,,,i seen there deadly spines,,,,,some say you can be hospitalised
