Somewhere safe in around Dublin/Wicklow

Looking for a fearly safe spot to teach a 6 year old to fish and maybe catch a few mac aswell

You can't go far wrong with Dun Laoghaire, bring some rag too and try for wrasse, either pier would do. Most kids get into fishing on the piers. Fish inside the harbour close to the wall for the wrasse, you should get plenty of bites to keep a 6 year old interested. Good luck.

:lol: :lol: :lol: i wouldnt my lads 7 and i wouldnt bring him unless i had a straight jacket and a rope :lol: greystones southbeach is good for kids and when he gets fed up after half an hour you can fish away while he plays in the sand :!:

arklow south beach is great for kids dont have to cast far and full of small fish that will keep him going for hours

I took my 3 kids down to the pier in wicklow harbour . Rag on a size8 hook under a small float they caught baby pollock,wrasse and a couple of crabs. They had a ball and its very safe also took them to skerries pier and swore never again
