Cod ID

I know this is a cod but just wondered if its a diferent type of cod as it seemed to be very different in colour to what ive seen caught before.

Species 2010.(2) Doggie, Cod
Species 2011.(12) Dab, Coalie, 5 Bearded Rockling, Whiting, Doggie, Pollock, Shanny/Common Blenny, Silver Eel, Mackerel, Wrasse, Sting Ray, Cod

Species 2012.(5) Sea Scorpion, Pollock, sand eel, mackerel, corkwing wrasse.

No, just a normal Cod! Cod can vary in colour depending on what they are feeding on and the environment around them.

you can get white belly cod that or caught mainly of sand and red cod that are caught in thick weed and rock red cod is no where near as nice to eat than the normal white belly cod :wink: :D

Kelp cod are lovely to eat...they are my staple diet down here in Cork... was out yesterday and kept 5 of them... 4-6lb... will keep me going for the week... lovely ;)
