Never took Macs from Wex harbour, but fish from the marina into the main channel and you should make contact with Bass and good sized Mullet. Comfortable place to fish, bring loads of peelers for ledgering but I love spinning for Bass from the marina.

Also, Ferrycarrig fishes well this time of year, just above the bridge ond the northern bank , I think it's called the Broken shore but I am not sure, again, good Bass are caught here as are some decent Mullet and flatties.

Most methods are pretty successful, I usually spin here but sometimes use a watch lead and a two hook flapper rig at Ferrycarrig as it has a muddy bottom.

As for Blackwater, a few friends fished it last week and caught a lot of Ray, it was a night fishing session. I plan to hit it myself soon, we had a good session there this time last August , some good size tope caught from the middle of the beach, again it was a night session, never had much success with day sessions from the beach. Don't fish at the river end of the beach, it chews up tackle and does not fish well.
