Collecting Live Sandeel - Cork

#1 Post by davidmav »

Hi Guys,

I am new to this site but not new to fishing. I have done plenty of Bass and Pollock fishing with baits and lures but have never tried live Sandeel.

Apparently live sandeel can be killer for big Pollack and Bass so I am looking to get my hands on some.

I have done my research on how to collect them but all I need to know is where.

I am based in Kinsale, Co.Cork.

Does anyone know anywhere nearby that would be suitable for collecting sandeels?

I was thinking of Garretstown but I am unsure.

Any info would be much appreciated.

Thanks and Kind Regards,
David

Hi Donal,

Thanks for the info.
Will a general low tide be ok or is a Spring Low needed?

Also, did you ever hear of anyone having any luck around the Kinsale area?
I have seen sandeel around the Old Head area.

Thanks and Kind Regards,
David
