Re: peeler crab
hi mate there are a lot of places to get crab in dublin but many people will keep them close to there chest because they are so good as a bait and cost a yoyo for 1 but if you go down to any weed margins along were people dig bait and start to look you should pick up a few also lots of softies this time of year and you should get them from may to october in the right place 1 place i will tell you about is clontarf behind the old baths there is a few old tyres there that hold a few also the stream on sandymount and under all the rocks beside it

Re: peeler crab
I think it might be hard to get people to give out there spots for peeler crab, but anywhere along the coast that is rocky and weedy should put you in with a very good chance at low water. They are not really specific to one area and can be found where conditions are suitable. If you have trouble distinguishing between a hardback and a peeler the best thing to do is to gently break the segment on the second last leg towards the back of the crab. If it has a soft new leg under it, it is a peeler, if it has white sinue then it is a hardback, also if you gently pinch the back of the shell you should be able to see the shell lifting or cracking which would indicate a peeler.
