Result: Cod, coalie, pollack, launce, mack :

Headed out out to the rough ground to take adavantage of the calm weather at last and do a bit of pirking. Had great cod to 8lb starting with a double shot before the rig hit the bottom on the first drop. Mixed in with the cod were coalies and the odd pollack, some macks around also. Had maybe 30 or so good cod and most of them went back in a lively condition. As the arms were getting sore from the double and odd triple shot I changed over to a shad on a light spinning rod and found the cod & pollack willing.

Lovely cod there. We've been blessed with the weather the last few days alright. Thank god. June was a disaster as far as small boats are concerned. Lets hope the weather stays fine and the fish hang about.
