Re: Bangor Area
its not all bad though
some days you could nearly catch a fish a cast at high tide from the platform at bangor pier using size 10 or 8 hooks and small squares of mackerel or rag but you would be lucky to get one bigger than 5 inches
its fun for kids though as you can almost guarantee them a fish and theres a good variety
thats not to say there arent bigger fish to be had off the back of the wall but my expierience is they are very very few and far between. and by bigger i mean up to a pound maybe.

Re: Bangor Area
You would be right on the good for kids part, but Bangor is like alot of places around the North, Rubbish!
Mullet, Bass, Sea Trout are now my main quarries ive all but given up on the majority of shore fishing in Northern Ireland.
But for Game fishing is still going strong.
