Lahinch Co. Claire

#1 Post by Cormdogg »

Hi guys
Heading to Lahinch for the weekend, any good spots? Where can I get bait etc? Shop bought that is! ;)

Don't fancy the beach, not lugging tripods etc with me, rock or pier ideally

Thanks

id say bring any lug or rag with you from the east coast, you wont be able to buy any of that over there - dont know if the tackle shop in ennis would have any sea baits either - im sure some locals will inform you

the supermarkets probably will have mack for you in ennistimon

the pier in liscannor was throwing up a few doggies and small stuff recently

the rocks at ballyreen and doolin should be getting a bit better now - heard of a few mackeral showing to distance casters so you should have some craic there

pick up some small shore crabs and you should have a bit of craic with the bigger wrasse

think you should still bring the tripod - theres good fishing off the beaches round there!

just to say the shop in fanore doesnt have any live worm baits, the chap in the shop is dead on and will give you a heads up on wheres fishing - but all the same, there always seems to be a few good fish caught in his estimation no matter what time of year it is!
