Re: multiplier reel ?
Hows it going i started using a penn 525 mag multiplyer last year beach casting for the first time ever i was recomended by my mate who was using 1 for years. Although i havent used any other multiplyer i found this 1 very handy to use and got great distance casting bar the few birds nests ha but otherwise it was grand you just need to set it up right or get someone te show you how to set it up but once you get the hang of it you never go back to a fixed spool. Good luck with the new reel

Re: multiplier reel ?
No probs using one on a FS rod, any ABU 6500 or Daiwa 7HT type reel will do fine, try get one without a level wind, go for CT type. Distance comes with time and practice, so to begin just start with gentle lobs and stick to day time untill you have more confidence.

Re: multiplier reel ?
Slosh 20....couldn't recommend it highly enough for a straight forward, dependable multiplier reel.great reel to start out with in my opinion.I know someone who has a slosh 20 that he still fishes with sometimes and he has it almost 20 years now.very easy to maintain as well.definitely worth a look man

Re: multiplier reel ?
slosh ? penn? are ya trying to put him off multies? for a learner i,d go for an abu with brake blocks and magnetic cast control, that way as your confidence grows you can get rid of the blocks alltogether and just use mags ,buy a good second hand one then if you dont like it or just get fed up you can sell it on without it costing you an arm and a leg
