North Donegal???

#1 Post by SlackLiner »

Hi all,

I thinking on heading up to North Donegal (Buncrana, Culdaff region) this weekend. Can anyone help me out with some mark ideas? I'm looking for rock/ray marks to blast a few sandeels off? I'm happy to do a bit of hiking as well?

I'm totally new to this area but been fishing for a brave few years so I understand if people would rather pm???

Cheers and promise to post a report :D

Buncrana pier will throw up ray. You'll have to fish it in the dark probably, otherwise you'll be plagued  !! Culdaff beach and pier will throw up a few fish too.
It ain't easy but it sure is simple!

Thanks Sweetwrasse, much appreciated! I might try Buncrana but I'd rather stay away from the crowds if possible. Are they're any beeches or rocks in the area would turn up a ray or two? Ignoyingly I've only got daylight hours to play with :(

give Fawn a bash for the rays
I have not been up there yet but they should be there
The pier at buncrana will throw them up too but it will be
a nightmare with the S to W winds forecast for the weekend
Leenan pier face s south and the wind can be a nightmare there also
Leenan beach should be fairly sheltered and a chance of a decent turbot there also

2011 species so far
coalfish,plaice,dab flounder,turbot,sea trout,thornback ray,pollock,ling,mackeral

One day.. Facebook, Youtube, Myspace and Friendster will come together as one. It will be called, FookYouMyFriend.

Yeah I'm abit concerned about the wind myself. Will prob try Fahan first and if it's too blowy head on up to Leenan for a flick. Havent fished Fahan in about 10 years - hope all that weed's gone.... :(

Thanks for all your advice guys, some great ideas, will let you know how I get on!
