Hi Lads,
I'm new to the site and looking to take up shore fishing. I've done a little bit of fishing over the past few years with some success (mackerel, pollack and a few wrasse) but want to try and take it up properly and expand the species numbers. I am living in Galway city and am looking for a bit of advice on some spots and possibly tactics that will give me a chance of catching a few fish.
I was in Salthill last weekend on the right of the diving board looking to catch a few flatties or whatever else I might get. I was using lugworm at dusk on a low tide with no luck. Going to try and give it a another go this weekend. If anyone out there has a few tips that will help me that would be great.
Thanks in advance.

Cheers Huss but had a change of plan so going to be in Sligo for the weekend. I'm going to bring the fishing gear and have a go out in Streedagh when I'm up there. Next time I'm heading out I'll let you know.
