Gannets diving out from Dun Laoghaoire Baths

Out walking this evening and saw 5 or 6 gannets circling and doing a lot of diving about 60 or 70 yards out from the old baths .

I watched for a while but didnt see what they were after and of course no binocs when you need them .

Any one any knowledge on what they were hunting ?

They have been at it for the last few weeks, tons of small coalies about more than likley what they are taking there is also plenty of sand eels

they were doing the same on sat morning at portrush, prob why i got 3 sand eels then lol

they where down off north beach wicklow as well on sunday.
