Hi John,
generally speaking John any rods ive ordered from england down the years have cost on average 25pounds to a max of 40pounds by courier,53 seems a bit dear and the rods also came with protective piping as well.
Generally the bigger companies have cheaper postage than the smaller ones but it has been a while since i got a rod delivered so things may have changed.

Thanks for the replies, I know the rod is 15ft in two equal sections so longer than most rods but £53 does seen very pricey. Have e-mailed them back to see can they offer me a better price.

Most I ever paid is about £20-£25 pounds from Gerry's or Veals, that was a few years ago though....but can't see where they would get £53 from...

Possibly taking a margin on the shipping is my guess, the blank itself is priced well at £190 but you add on the shipping and it takes the gloss off it (parden the pun)

£15 for any rod to Ireland with Gerrys Fishing.

Got a reply from dealer stating that any package over 1.5m and they gets heavily surcharged . all rods are over 1.5m you idiot, get a new courier.
