there is a few small ones showing around the sth wicklow/nth wexford beaches

Might be worth while trying Portmarnock this week at dusk. Tides and weather are perfect tonight!

im gonna try a smootie session this year for the first time,,,,,,,why is every one so potty on a smootie session

because they go like a steam train, smoothies will pull a rod and tripod down the beach if you dont have your drag set right :shock:

When you head out and catch one you will be wishing they were all year round !!!!!!!!!

Does anyone know if they can be caught down on the south coast??? Still haven't popped my smootie cherry :lol:
Species 2012:

Cod, Whiting, flounder, coalfish, bass, pollack, sea trout, poor cod, pouting, dogfish, sea scorpion, 3 bearded rockling, blonde ray, painted ray, turbot.

The only place that i know of down south where they have been caught is rosslare!!!!!

Would you advise that a you a use a multiplier for them? I have never tried for them but i'm very tempted to make the trip and have a go.

multiplier with a ratchet is ideal :wink:
