mullaghmore bait shop help

#1 Post by krisreid »

Hi all,

Staying in mullaghmore this weekend, any bait shops local?

Also is the beach the best spot? Any other marks welcome, pm if you wish..

Tight lines.

The best bait shops are barton smits & house of value in sligo town but barton smiths can be very dear, not sure if the small shop in mullaghmore is stilll going, if i were ye i would bring plenty of lug up with ye.haven't fished that place in a long time so can't realy say but it can be a famine or a feast there at times
Cheers Brian

The shop in mullaghmore is hit and miss with opening depends whether the boat is out or the wife at home from my experience only sells frozen bait too. Only sells frozen bait. Never fished the beach but if the weather is good be plagued with swimmers and walkers.

sorry this is probably to late but its easier to fish of the break water lug and fish baits you will get dogs coalies flats and the occasional sea trout. your better off fishing into darkness just because there;s less people around . Mullaghmore seems to attract ignorant people on jet ski's etc. we were catching codling there 2 summers ago but got nothing last year.
